In July 2019, I moved to Canada from Nigeria with my husband and three children. I had stopped working professionally as an accountant/auditor in Nigeria for the last seven years because I wanted to spend more time with children. My husband's job required him to be away from home twice a month, and I didn't want to be away as well because my job required me to be away as well.
I desired a job that was flexible, gave me time freedom, and was also professionally and financially rewarding, but there were no such opportunities in my home country. I ran a small home-based business, but it wasn't profitable. It was also not professionally motivating, so the prospect of relocating to Canada, where there are so many opportunities, piqued my interest.
I went to see a new friend I met at church a few weeks after arriving. On her advice, I enrolled in and completed a course with H&R Block. I also received an offer to work for them. The joy I felt as my dream of getting a professional job came true cannot be expressed in words. The only catch was that it’s only from January to June, but I didn't mind because the learning was priceless.
Another blessing from this previous job was that I met my AGA who shared the IRP and business opportunity with me. I accepted the offer right away because it was a business I could pursue as part of my career path. I'm grateful to my AGA for showing me the ropes and assisting me in achieving the success I now have.
My mentors helped me stay focused and encouraged me when I was feeling overwhelmed. I'm also grateful to my leaders, who provided timely and consistent training sessions to help me advance quickly in the business. Many thanks to our CEO and Lead Mentor Marlon and Elsa Antonio, for the vision that led to the birth of Greatway and the creation of wealth for families.
Finally, and most importantly, I thank God Almighty for directing my path to meet the wonderful people who led me to Greatway. Now I have the time for my family, professional growth and development, and financial freedom that I have always desired.
